The University of Debrecen is inviting applications for the Pannonia Scholarship Program to support the mobility of staff for research purposes for the 2025/26 academic year.
1. Aim of the program
Supporting the research mobility of lecturers, researchers and staff members of the University of Debrecen at host institutions abroad.
2. Purpose of the call
The successful applicants will conduct research at the host institution abroad for a period of 2-60 days.
The host institution cannot be located in the applicant's country of residence.

3. Eligible activities
- Research activities at a foreign host institution (2-60 days) The maximum eligible duration, taking into account the available resources, is generally 10 days, except in particularly justified cases.
Participants receive support (scholarships) to carry out their research activities abroad. The amount of the scholarship depends on the duration of the educational activity and the destination country. Applicants should note that the grant does not necessarily cover the costs of travel and accommodation abroad, but merely contributes to the realization of foreign mobility, so additional resources may also be required.
4. Who can apply?
Those who meet the following conditions are eligible to submit an application:
- Hungarian citizen (or resident of Hungary with a long-term residence permit or refugee status);
- full-time, part-time, hourly-paid or volunteer lecturer or researcher, or employee of the University of Debrecen.
5. Deadline and method for submitting applications:
Deadline for submitting applications: September 30, 2025.
Applications can be submitted on the University of Debrecen's online platform by completing the online application form in full and uploading the listed attachments.
Attention! When filling out the form, please make sure to select the "Pannónia STR" option in the "Stay type" and "Framework" fields!
Incomplete or formally incorrect applications will be rejected.
6. Documents to be attached:
- a research plan approved by the dean/head of department/head of institute, detailing the research activities to be carried out during the mobility period
- a letter of acceptance
- a document certifying language proficiency in the working language of the research activity
- a CV
7. Additional documents required for concluding the grant agreement:
If the grant is awarded, the University of Debrecen will conclude a grant agreement with the applicant, the terms and conditions of which are set out in the following documents:

- signed travel authorisation
- bank account statement containing the following information: account holder's name, bank name and SWIFT code, IBAN bank account number, bank account currency
- EU TAJ card or valid travel insurance
8. Evaluation of submitted applications:
Applications will be evaluated by the International Office and faculty mobility coordinators, with the involvement of the head of the organizational unit responsible for research, taking into account the relevant evaluation criteria of each faculty and the available resources.
Applicants will be notified by email within 14 days of submission whether their application has been accepted or rejected.
9. Additional conditions
After the scholarship period, the teacher/researcher must prepare a research report detailing the activities and results of the mobility period. The report is accepted by the head of the department/institute/academic affairs of the teacher/researcher.
An applicant may undertake a maximum of one mobility period per academic year with the support of the program, except in the case of group study trips with a group of students (e.g., Blended Intensive Program (BIP)), in which case the applicant also performs teaching duties at the host institution.
