The University of Debrecen, in the framework of the Pannonia Scholarship Programme, invites applications for staff mobility for research purposes for the autumn and spring semesters of the academic year 2024/25.
1. Aim of the application
To support the research mobility of teachers, researchers and staff of the University of Debrecen in host institutions abroad.
2. Subject of the application
The winning teachers are researchers and staff members carrying out research activities at the host institution abroad for a supported period of 2-60 days.
The host institution cannot be in the country of residence of the applicant.

3. Eligible activities
- Research activity in a host institution abroad (2-60 days). The maximum duration eligible for funding, subject to available resources, is normally 14 days, except in duly justified cases.
Participants will receive a grant (scholarship) to carry out research abroad. The amount of the grant depends on the duration of the educational activity and the country of destination. Information on grant amounts: https://internationaloffice.unideb.hu/pannonia-osztondijprogram-tamogatasi-osszegek
Applicants should note that the grant does not necessarily cover the costs of travel and stay abroad, but only contributes to the realisation of the research activity abroad, and therefore other additional funding may be required.
If the applicant is an employee of the host university or if the host university partly or fully funds the costs of travel and/or stay, the participant will not be eligible for a grant.
4. Who can apply?
To be eligible to apply, you must meet the following conditions:
- a Hungarian citizen (or a long-term resident or refugee in Hungary);
- is a full-time, part-time, lecturer or volunteer teacher, researcher or staff member of the University of Debrecen.

Attention! When filling in the form, please make sure that you select the "Pannonia STR" option in the "Stay type" and "Framework" fields.
Incomplete or incorrectly formatted applications will be rejected.
6. Documents to be attached:
- a research plan, approved by the Dean/Head of Department/Head of the Institute, detailing the research activities to be carried out during the mobility
- cover letter
- a document certifying the language skills corresponding to the working language of the research activity
- CV
7. Additional documents required for the conclusion of the grant agreement:
In the case of a successful application, the University of Debrecen will conclude a grant contract with the applicant, the terms of which are set out in the following documents:
- a Mobility Agreement signed by all three parties (applicant, sending and host institution), covering the activities planned during the mobility and the results to be achieved (sample to download: https://internationaloffice.unideb.hu/hasznos-informaciok
- signed travel authorisation
- a bank account certificate containing the following information: name of the account holder, name and SWIFT code of the bank, IBAN bank account number, currency of the bank account
- EU TAJ (European Health Card) or valid travel insurance
8. Evaluation of submitted applications:
The International Office and the faculty mobility coordinators will evaluate the submitted applications, involving the head of the department responsible for research and taking into account the relevant evaluation criteria of each faculty and the available resources.
Applicants will be notified of the award or rejection of their application by e-mail within 14 days of submission.
9. Additional conditions
At the end of the fellowship period, the teacher/researcher must prepare a research report covering the activities and results of the mobility period. The report shall be approved by the Head of the Department/Head of the Institute/Head of Academic Affairs of the teacher/researcher.
An applicant may undertake a maximum of one mobility per academic year with the support of the programme, except when participating with a group of students in a group study visit (e.g. Blended Intensive Programme (BIP)), where the applicant will also be a teacher at the host institution.
