The University of Debrecen is announcing a call for applications under the Pannonia Scholarship Program to support the training-related mobility of its staff for the 2026–27 academic year.
1. Aim of the programme
To support the educational mobility of University of Debrecen staff members at host institutions abroad, thereby providing them with opportunities to develop their professional competencies and gain international experience.
2. Purpose of the Call for Applications
Staff members selected through this call for applications will participate in a training program organized by a foreign higher education institution or other foreign host institution. The duration of the supported training may not be less than 2 days or more than 5 days. (In addition, depending on the distance, one travel day may be included in both the duration of the mobility and the duration of the scholarship support.)

3. Eligible activities
- Training-related mobility at a partner institution (2–5 days)
- Participation in other training programs at a host institution abroad (2–5 days)
Employees receive financial support (a scholarship) to carry out their training activities abroad. The amount of the scholarship depends on the duration of the training activity and the destination country.: https://internationaloffice.unideb.hu/en/pannonia-scholarship-programme-amounts-support
Applicants should note that the grant does not necessarily cover the costs of travel and accommodation abroad, but merely contributes to the realization of foreign mobility, so additional resources may also be required.
4. Who can apply?
Applicants who meet the following criteria are eligible to apply:
- Hungarian citizens (or individuals residing in Hungary with a long-term residence permit or refugee status);
- full-time or part-time employees of the University of Debrecen.
5. Deadline and Method for Submitting Applications:
The deadline for submitting applications is September 30, 2026. Depending on the availability of funds during the academic year, a supplementary call for applications may be issued.
Applications may be submitted via the University of Debrecen’s online portal by fully completing the online application form and uploading the listed attachments.
Applications that are incomplete or do not meet the formal requirements will be rejected.
6. Documents to be attached:
- A work plan approved by the dean/department chair/institute director, which includes the planned content of the training activities.
- Curriculum vitae
- Copy of the letter of acceptance/invitation
- Copy of a document certifying the required language proficiency (B2)
7. Additional documents required for the conclusion of the grant agreement:
If the grant is awarded, the University of Debrecen will enter into a grant agreement with the applicant, the terms of which are set forth in the following documents:

- a signed travel authorization
- a bank account statement containing the following information: account holder’s name, bank name and SWIFT code, IBAN, and the currency of the bank account
- an European Health Insurance Card or valid travel insurance
8. Evaluation of Submitted Applications:
The International Office evaluates the submitted applications; for applicants affiliated with the faculties, this is done in consultation with the faculty mobility coordinators, taking into account the relevant evaluation criteria of each faculty and the available resources.
Applicants will be notified by email whether their application has been accepted or rejected.
9. Additional Conditions
An applicant may participate in no more than one mobility activity per academic year with funding from the program. In the case of training-related mobility, the applicant may not be an employee of the host institution, and if the host institution covers all or part of the costs of travel and/or the stay abroad, the employee is not eligible for a scholarship.
