Call for applications for teaching mobility for the 2025/2026 academic year

The University of Debrecen is inviting applications for participation in the teaching mobility program for the 2025/26 academic year as part of the Pannonia Scholarship Program.

1. Aim of the program

Supporting the educational mobility of lecturers from the University of Debrecen at partner institutions abroad.

2. Purpose of the call

The successful applicants will teach at a higher education institution that has a bilateral agreement with the University of Debrecen. The supported duration of teaching cannot be less than 2 days and 8 teaching hours, and cannot exceed 5 days (in addition, depending on the distance, one travel day may be included in the duration of mobility and the duration of the scholarship support). More information: https://internationaloffice.unideb.hu/en/pannonia-scholarship-programme-amounts-support

 The host institution cannot be located in the applicant's country of residence.

3. Eligible activities

  • Teaching mobility at a partner institution (2-5 days)

Participants receive support (scholarships) for their educational activities abroad. The amount of the scholarship depends on the duration of the educational activity and the destination country. Applicants should note that the grant does not necessarily cover the costs of travel and accommodation abroad, but only contributes to the realization of foreign teaching mobility or conference participation, so additional resources may be required.
If the applicant is an employee of the host university, or if the host university finances part or all of the travel and/or accommodation costs, the teacher is not eligible for a scholarship.

4. Who can apply?

Those who meet the following conditions are eligible to submit an application:

  • Hungarian citizen (or resident in Hungary with a long-term residence permit or refugee status);
  • full-time, part-time, hourly-paid or volunteer lecturer at the University of Debrecen
  • in the case of lecturer mobility: the University of Debrecen has a valid cooperation agreement with the host partner institution in the relevant subject area.

5. Deadline and method for submitting applications:

Deadline for submission of applications: September 30, 2025, midnight

Applications can be submitted on the University of Debrecen's online platform by completing the online application form in full and uploading the listed attachments.

Online application  You must apply online to a partner institution with which the University of Debrecen has a valid inter-institutional agreement (Erasmus+, Pannonia or bilateral) for teacher exchange!

Incomplete or formally incorrect applications will be rejected.

6. Documents to be attached:

  • a work plan approved by the dean/head of department/head of institute, which includes:
    • in the case of teaching mobility, the planned content/topic of the teaching, the number of hours taught, the number of students taught, the language of instruction
  • document certifying language proficiency equivalent to the language of instruction
  • CV
  • Letter of Acceptance/Invitation Letter

7. Additional documents required for concluding the grant agreement:

If the grant is awarded, the University of Debrecen will conclude a grant agreement with the applicant, the terms and conditions of which are set out in the following documents:

  • mobility agreement signed by all three parties (applicant, sending and receiving institution representatives) (Downloadable template): https://internationaloffice.unideb.hu/en/useful-information
  • signed travel authorization
  • bank account statement containing the following information: account holder's name, bank name and SWIFT code, IBAN bank account number,  bank account currency
  • EU TAJ card or valid travel insurance

8. Evaluation of submitted applications:

Applications will be evaluated by the International Office and faculty mobility coordinators, taking into account the relevant evaluation criteria of each faculty and the available resources.
Applicants will be notified by email whether their application has been accepted or rejected.

9. Additional conditions

An applicant may undertake a maximum of one mobility project per academic year with the support of the program, except in cases where they participate in a group study trip with a group of students (e.g., Pannonia group study trip, Blended Intensive Program - BIP), in which case they also perform teaching duties at the host institution.
