The University of Debrecen is announcing a call for applications for long-term research mobility within the framework of the Pannonia Scholarship Program for the fall and spring semesters of the 2025/2026 academic year.

1. Aim of the call
The aim of the program is to provide students at the University of Debrecen with the opportunity to conduct research abroad with the support of a scholarship.
2. Eligible applicants
Enrolled students of the University of Debrecen (at master's, undivided and doctoral levels, full-time and part-time) who have active student status.
Only master's and doctoral students may apply for research mobility; students in undivided programs must have completed seven semesters to be eligible to apply.
Doctoral candidates are not eligible to apply. Students receiving Stipendium Hungaricum scholarships may not participate in long-term mobility during their studies.
3. Eligible activities
Activities eligible for support under this call for proposals:
- Research mobility (2-5 months): only at master's, undivided, and doctoral levels; in the case of undivided programs, a minimum of 7 completed semesters
Mobility must take place between November 1 2024, and August 31 2025.

5. Application requirements
General conditions of participation
- The student is an active student at the University of Debrecen, i.e. is pursuing studies leading to a degree on a full-time or part-time basis.
- The student is a Hungarian citizen or has a valid residence permit for the duration of the application and the trip.
- The destination of the scholarship mobility can be chosen from among the partner institutions with which the University of Debrecen has a relevant bilateral inter-institutional agreement.
- The student has passed the institutional assessment.
- The student has the necessary language skills (the language of study or research at the partner university) and can prove this in a credible manner during the application assessment.
- The maximum total mobility period in one training cycle is 12 months. Undivided training covers two cycles, so in the case of undivided training, the maximum total mobility period may be 24 months.
- Before the start of the research mobility abroad, a written study agreement with agreed content must be concluded.
- The activities carried out during the mobility must fit into the student's training plan.
- At the end of the study period, the host institution abroad must issue a certificate of the study program completed and the results achieved.
- After the scholarship period, the student must prepare a research report detailing the activities and results of the mobility period. The report is approved by the student's supervisor and the head of the department/institute.
- The sending institution is obliged to accept all activities undertaken, completed, and certified in the study contract.
- During the period abroad, students remain enrolled as full-time students at their home institution and are entitled to the study scholarship, social benefits, or other loans to which they are entitled, but they must also fulfill their tuition and other payment obligations at their home institution.
- Students must maintain active student status at their home institution until the end of their mobility period.
6. Documents required for submitting an application

- Credit certificate for semesters completed during the course of study (at least 1 semester). In the case of master's and doctoral programs, if the applicant has not yet completed a semester, a certificate for the last semester of the previous bachelor's or master's program may also be submitted. The certificate must include the courses completed and the scholarship index.
- Proof of language proficiency at least at B2 level (language exam certificate proving knowledge of the language of study, or proof of language proficiency from the language department);
- Professional CV with photo in Hungarian or English;
- Motivation letter stating the applicant's goals and the university to which they are applying (to be submitted on the online application form);
- In the case of research mobility: a research plan approved in advance by the supervisor/subject coordinator
- Letter of Acceptance
- Proof of scientific/TDK work (not mandatory);
- Proof of student public life activities (not mandatory).
Important! Faculties and departments may impose additional restrictions on applicants. Please check the specific requirements for each faculty and department before submitting your application!
7. Conditions to travel abroad for student research purposes:
- A positive decision on the application by the relevant faculty committee and a positive assessment at institutional level. A document certifying active student status for the semester of the trip.
- The willingness of the foreign institution to accept the applicant.
- Before starting research mobility abroad, a study agreement with agreed content must be concluded. The study agreement, signed by all three parties (student, sending institution, host institution), contains the details of the planned research and the expected results, as well as the method of crediting them at the University of Debrecen.
- Permission from the Faculty Study Subcommittee (depending on the faculty).
- European Union health insurance card, or health and accident insurance valid in the host country, as well as professional liability insurance.
- If required in the country concerned, a valid student visa issued to students.
8. Grant amount
We would like to draw the attention of applicants to the fact that the scholarship does not necessarily cover all costs incurred during the stay abroad, and it may be necessary to supplement it from other sources.
9. Deadlines
Application deadline: last day of each month. Application has to be turned in at least a month before the mobility dates.
Application evaluation deadline: first week of next month.
